Boston, MA – July 1, 2017 -- Fan Manager, the Boston, Mass. based marketing analytics platform for maximising the value of fan relationships, has appointed David Melnick as CEO. The executive search was conducted by Renovata Partners.
Fan Manager leverages the enthusiasm of fan bases, initially for sports but also by extension for celebrities, colleges and universities, and retail brands. The business was founded by Jim Pallotta, whose Raptor Group Holdings’ prestige investments include Uber, Airbnb, Spotify and Twitter, as well as successful sport franchises, including A. S. Roma (soccer) and the Boston Celtics (basketball). Pallotta founded Fan Manager because it became apparent that there was no holistic platform to extract unified quantitative insights from fan activity on social media, ticketing companies and marketing databases.
David joins Fan Manager with 25 years’ unbroken experience scaling marketing technology businesses. He has a uniquely in-depth industry perspective, having delivered work in technology, analytics, client-side and strategic consultancy; and navigated through seismic martech industry changes, including the migration SaaS-based solutions. He has also shaped businesses for acquisition, including Veridiem (Director, Professional Services, acquired by SAS) and Quaero (VP, Professional Services, acquired by CSG). David joins Fan Manager after six years at Merkle, the respected end-to-end marketing automation and technology consultancy where he most recently led their innovation in analytics business and product line.
Working with the Board, David will lead Fan Manager’s growth, increasing its global client base in sport, extending the product’s reach into new segments and managing the platform’s service and development roadmaps.
